The integrated dual-antenna RTK GPS, LIDAR rangefinder, and extended Kalman filter (EKF) navigation solution measures the sensor position relative to the plant within centimeters.
Specifications for the Precision Navigation Module
This article is for setting up a SlantRange sensor with the Precision Navigation Module that is RTK enabled. If you are working with a SlantRange sensor that has the Precision Navigation Module without RTK please click here.
The SD card end of the sensor needs to be facing forward with the modular end on the opposing end.
When connecting the radio antennas to the sensor, it is imperative to connect the antenna to the color-coordinated port of the module.
If you are working with a DJI Matrice 200 V1 or V2, the antenna positions are the standard positions. If you are installing the antenna on a different aircraft please contact us for positioning details.
Attached included the cable to install the radio, sensor, and AIS.
Attach base station to a tripod. Connect the radio to the base station using the included cable. Make sure the side labeled "Host" is connected to the base station and the side labeled "Cable Creation" is connected to the radio.
Connect the radio to your aircraft and have it facing forward. The antenna can be facing right or left but it must be pointing down at a 90-degree angle.
Once the sensor, antennas, and RTK base station have all been properly set up, configure your sensor with the 4P/4P+ Toolbox for the RTK set.
When you power on the sensor the AIS light codes will follow a unique pattern when using the Precision Navigation Module and the RTK base station set up.
If you are experiencing an error during the initial setup please check both radios and make sure they are both powered on. If one of the radio lights is solid red, unplug the connector and plug it back in.
If the problem continues, verify that the base station is on and has acquired a lock-in stationary mode.
Once the RTK base station is configured with the drone and sensor, a one-time compass calibration is required before its initial flight.
After successfully completing the compass calibration you can begin planning your flight.
