Keep in mind, the industry standard to generate native resolution stitched mosaics of agricultural image data, which is very prone to aliasing due to the repeating features in the images, is typically 80% overlap, resulting in 4x the flight time and 16x the raw data when compared to the flight parameters used for processing in SlantView.
The export tools referenced in this article are available in the free version of SlantView, known as SlantView Lite.
Step 1: Access SlantView
Log in into your SlantView account to begin the data export.
Step 2: Pix4D Export Option
Click Settings > Export options.
To export the images for multispectral processing:
- In the Targeted section, check Pix4D.
To export the images for RGB processing:
- In the Targeted section, check Pix4D.
- Uncheck Convert pixel values to reflectance.
- In the Export color bands dropdown, select Separately.
- Check Keep RGB planes together.
Click OK.
Step 3: Process the Dataset
Select Data > Process dataset then select the desired dataset folder. It may take a few minutes to scan the folder. Enter the Grower, Field name, and Crop type. Select the Process pull down menu, choose Export images, and click OK. When finished, SlantView will create a new subfolder named Pix4D.
For RGB processing, copy or move all of the RGB images from the new Pix4D folder into a new folder to be used in the steps below. Note that the RGB images all have RGB in the file name.
Step 4: Open Pix4D
Open Pix4D and create a new project. Select Add Directories and navigate to the Pix4D folder created in Step 3 above. Click Next to begin importing the data.
Step 5: Confirm Image Properties in Pix4D
After the import is complete, confirm the camera and image metadata is correct.
Click Next for the next prompts to accept the defaults. Before finishing, unselect Start Processing Now to enter additional processing options.
Step 6: Set Processing Options for Sensors with or without a SlantRange Precision Navigation Module
Select Open Process > Processing Options. Next, enable Advanced in the bottom left and select Initial Processing > Calibration.

Next, navigate to 3. DSM, Orthomosaic and Index > Index Calculator.
For multispectral processing, SlantView images are exported as reflectance and are already corrected so ensure each option for Radiometric Processing and Calibration is set to No Correction.
Adjust other parameters and processing outputs as needed then process the data set. Please contact Pix4D for further assistance.
