Why are my population density numbers low?

SlantView Population Analysis processing

includes four main map products:

Population map, Plant size map, Emergence fraction, and Weed map.

For accurate population counts, individual plants must not be overlapping with neighbors. If population density numbers are low, look at the individual plant detections in the Image Window. If neighboring plants are overlapping, SlantView may have detected them as a single plant as shown here:

The Plant size and Emergence fraction maps are still highly applicable after leaves have begun to overlap, and the field matures past the appropriate stage for Population mapping.

It is critical to fly population datasets lower and slower based on the recommendations of the flight calculators built into the Flight Plan and DroneDeploy apps.
